A United States spy satellite is due to head back to earth and there isn’t much anyone can do about it. The U.S. government is “monitoring” the AWOL object and has no idea when it will impact earth and is not disclosing where they estimate the satellite will hit. So in the spirit of the occasion, we’re firing up a contest.

To enter the contest register as a commenter, give your best guess for when you think the satellite will impact earth, and where you think the impact site will be. The commenter who picks the correct date, and location closest to the actual impact site, will win a SIM unlock for the iPhone. If you’re betting on a water impact (you’ve got a 70% chance) provide a longitude and latitude to mark your spot.
