SwitchEasy CapsuleRebel Review

CRA = CapsuleRebel Arctic
Description
The CR is made from a two piece design, one is what they call “rubber” and the other is a hard piece of flexible plastic. Now I am not sure if this is only with the arctic version of CR, but the so called “rubber” is actually what feels like plastic. Its kind of a marshmallow like feeling feeling, if you have the Griffin Wave case it feels the same. So basically you put on the “rubber” part and then pop in every single piece of the spine. The spine makes a nice pop when you get it into place, and after you are done just go down the perimeter of it to make sure everything is secure. Now if you are the kind of person who takes off their case alot this is not for you.
Packaging/Contents

The packaging the rebel came in was really simple. Just the case, and a little box on the bottom with some of the accessories in it. Inside the box I found a dock adapter made to fit the case, and the video stand. When you open the case for the first time is has a fake cardboard iPhone in it, that you open up, and inside of it you find: Two static cling screen protectors, a microfiber cloth, and the dock connector protector. Also on the inside of the fake iPhone there is a small manual. Very nice apple-like packaging, 10/10 for packaging, and 9/10 for the contents.
First Impressions

The SE CRA does not look anything like what i expected. At first i was really sad, it looked REALLY bad, but then I washed it and it turns out it was just kind of dusty I guess, and now I love it. The only see through part is the spine, and the “rubber” part is not completely transparent, although you can see some black. For first impressions i give it 6/10, since it gave me quite a shock when I first got it.
Protection
The Protection on this case ROCKS. I mean i really like it, it just feels like hard plastic but it really protects well. I mean I am literally like knocking on my phone and it doesn’t look like it is taking any damage at all. As well the supply you with a nice little thing you put into your dock to make sure lint etc does not get in. Protection gets a 9/10.
Design

The SE CRA does not look anything like what i expected. At first i was really sad, it looked REALLY bad, but then I washed it and it turns out it was just kind of dusty I guess, and now I love it. The only see through part is the spine, and the “rubber” part is not completely transparent, although you can see some black. It really looks amazing! The SE CRA cradles each and every single but button. Basically every button has a cover on it. The silent ringer switch is open and easy to access, and the volume up/down button are covered with the a plastic mold, which actually actually makes it slightly more sensitive I think, so is the Sleep/wake button. Once you take out the dock connector protector, dock port is fully accessible. Design gets an 8.6/10.

Price
or 27$ you get a great deal, including 2X screen protectors, a microfiber cloth, a docking stand and a dock connector protector. For this price you also get shipping, and the shipping takes under a week for the United States, making the cost of the actual case only 24$. This case is way above the average case rating, and also lower in cost. The average case costs about 35$ at the apple store. For all of these things included, price gets a 9.5/10.
Pros
- VERY good protection.
- Many accessories included.
- Includes screen protector.
- Looks great.
- Increases button sensitivity.
- Silicone feels like plastic on the outside, but is rubber on the inside, making it easily slip into pockets.
- Does NOT attract dirt, lint or anything else.
Cons
- Heard to take off/ put on.
- Sleep/Wake button a little hard to press.
- Pretty thick (even though it looks slim).
- Hard framed headphone jack, only straight-shot headphones will fit.
- Shipping to Canada takes a long time.
- The glossy spine (if you take a glossy colour) gets scratched up and scuffed up.
Final verdict
Overall this is the best case i have used so far. It has very good protection, and provides the ultimate fusion of rubber and plastic. SwitchEasy Also provides all the things you need to protect the most vulnerable parts of the iPhone, including a dock port protector and 2 screen shields, making it have great total body coverage. For 27$, this is a definite buy! Overall this case is a PERFECT 9. I would rate it 10, but there has to be something better out there, I just have not tried it yet.
-I would like to thank Switcheasy for releasing such a great product, and donating a CapsuleNeo to us, which will be reviewed when it arrives. Thank you SwitchEasy.
