Marware Sport Grip For iPhone 3G Review

Today we will be reviewing the Marware Sport Grip for the iPhone 3G (20$). This case can be bought from Marware’s Website here, Or at your local Apple store. The case is available in white, black or pink, and Marware gives a lifetime guarantee if you order from the website (I am not sure about Apple Store purchases).

When I got the case, I was amazed by the packaging. It was really simple packaging, but yet showed off exactly what the product was. It almost looks like an apple product would look like, except it has clear plastic to see what is inside. The case came with a really nice screen protector which I did NOT apply, but it feels really nice to the touch, but it also seems to be a bit flimsy. Also this is one of the only screen protectors that come with a case I have seen that comes with a cover for the home button. Also with the screen protector comes a little microfiber-like cloth with the Marware logo on it. The cloth is really small and soft, but it cleans the screen really well. It was supplied only to clean the screen before screen shield installation, but I kept mine. Inside there was also a code to receive a free swivel clip from Marware’s website, but the bad thing is you need to buy an item online to qualify for the free swivel clip. I don’t know why you would need a swivel clip though, the case does not have a belt clip or anything. Marware provides a full face shield, even though the case covers most of the face except the screen, so I give Marware a 7/10 for contents inside the box, other than the case itself.

$20 iTunes Gift Card Contest!

This is our first contest! The reason for this contest is that I have failed to understand what to do to make this site better for you!

Yes, this is true. The biggest damage we want to repair with the help of this contest is slowly and dramatically decreasing readership! (I shouldn’t have disclosed this, but). I would have simply asked for your opinion but I thought it would be unfair to ask for your precious opinion without giving anything in return!

So, here’s what need to do to WIN:

Post as many suggestions as you can on how we can improve the site and grab some attention…

How to send picture messages (MMS) from your iPhone

The iPhone supports SMS-based text messages, not MMS messages, and therefore does not natively support picture messages. That doesn’t mean picture messaging is impossible, explain the folks over at Art of the iPhone.

They’ve posted a short workaround that takes advantage of the hidden email address used by mobile phones to facilitate text messaging. To obtain the text messaging email address of your mobile phone, or your friend’s mobile phone, check the list of email domains for the various US wireless carriers (below).

AMA: The iPhone as a viable medical information source

When Foothills Regional Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Mike Anderson recently arrived at the scene of a car accident and found a person unconscious, he assessed the patient’s condition and realizing he had little patient information, activated an iPhone to obtain necessary health data on the person’s allergies and current medications.

Since April, the Calgary Rural Primary Care Network (PCN) has conducted a pilot project using iPhones and unique software to provide secure access to patient data to physicians and other health providers outside of health facilities.

First Look: Grocery IQ for iPhone

Since most people travel everywhere with their iPhones, it is only fitting that an application would come along that would allow you to create a grocery list. Now if you want, you can shop in the store while listening to tunes and looking at your shopping list — Grocery iQ [iTunes link] allows you to do this and more.

To add an item to your list, just tap the “+” button in the top right corner. When you start entering the name of an item, Grocery iQ will start searching its database of more than 130,000 items. This is amazing, because everything that I threw at it, it recognized! The database even has brand-name items, if you prefer to search that way. You can enter the quantity of the items needed (from 1-100) and some notes about the item. Something that sets this application apart from others is the ability to sort items by aisles — and the app automatically tries to match your item to an aisle (however, you will probably have to re-arrange this to match the layout of your preferred grocery store).
