InfiniBoard – iPhone App To Enable Vertical Scrolling On SpringBoard (video)

Infiniboard vertical scrolling appRemember Infinidock -- a nifty tool for jailbroken iPhone users that enables horizontal scrolling on the iPhone dock?

Now chpwn, the developer of Infinidock and other jailbreak iPhone apps  like ProSwitcher has released another useful application that will enable vertical scrolling on your iPhone. 

Inspired by the vertical scrolling functionality on Android handsets like the Nexus One, InfiniBoard allows users to vertically scroll through their SpringBoard icons. The application integrates with the built-in horizontal scrolling functionality thus providing a two-dimensional navigation feature on your SpringBoard. 

However, there are a few issues waiting to be resolved. Though the InfiniBoard application includes support to OverBoard; an application that brings Mac’s Exposé feature to the iPhone, the icons are currently hidden and are expected to show up only after a new update is released for OverBoard. Also, users who have Categories app installed may notice that vertical scrolling does not work inside a particular folder. These are expected to be fixed in the next few days. 

 InfiniBoard is available from the BigBoss repo on Cydia for $1.99.

    @demonwares There are extensions in Cydia that do password protection, but Infiniboard isn’t intended to be one of them.

    Great app, would be awesome if you could “password protect” scrolling up. I have LogMeIn, eBuddy, Skype, and others with “remember password” which is not that safe if I get my phone stolen or lend it to someone.It would be awesome if you could add the apps with sensible data above all other apps and that page could only be accepted by scrolling up and a passwd pop up appearing.

    @wilws Nah, it just disables that part of the sync completely. Nothing is changed.

    @wilws iTunes doesn’t support any changed icon layouts (so it disables that feature of the sync), but you can use the free MultiIconMover from Cydia to move as many icons as you want at a time. Icon layouts are preserved when installing, so you’d just have to move the icons to the pages you want, and it would stay that way until you moved it to another way.

    I have a few questions, how does syncing with itunes effect icon placement (will I lose the ability to see hundreds of icons upon itunes sync)? I also have over 500 apps so I would like to know if the pages will auto populate or if I will have to move them all individually. Can any of this be done on the computer side in order to speed things up? Thanks.

    @kalafalas246 Interesting, I’ve only heard about how much people thought that was a feature :P . I’ll see if I can make it optional.
