Apple counts down to 25 billion App Store downloads
More than 24 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store, and Apple has rolled out a giveaway for whoever is lucky enough to claim the 25th billion download. Like previous giveaways, there’s a pretty sweet pot up for grabs: a US$10,000 App Store Gift Card that can be used in iTunes or the iBookstore. No purchase is necessary to enter.
Based on the speed of downloads, we expect a winner to be named within the next week. Apple’s App Store hit 15 billion downloads in July and 18 billion as of early October.
