ProCamera Brings A Feature-Rich, Professional Snapping Experience To The iPhone

Camera-based apps for Apple’s iPhone aren’t exactly in short supply, and while they all use the same quality of camera, the results from app to app can differ greatly.ProCamera

Some of the more popular ones can yield fantastic results, but the indifference of many image and photo apps mean it’s always good to do a little research before parting with any money.

Thanks to the iPhone 4S’s 8-megapixel snapper, the App Store has seen a boom in the number of such applications, and as big fans of the social aspect as well as the taking of snaps on our smartphones here at Redmond Pie, we’re always on the lookout for a decent camera app to feature.

ProCamera is far from fledgling, and has been around for a couple of years, but during its lifespan, it has undergone many, many changes which have seen it transcend to the point where it is now one of the most complete apps of its kind.

ProCamera is one of the founding members of the higher class of photo apps currently increasing in popularity. It sets a new benchmark for what it takes to be feature-rich, and if you’ve seen a quirky feature in a camera app in the past, ProCamera almost certainly has it somewhere it its expansive inventory.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II For iPhone And iPad Now Available For Download

While plenty of new titles have been born of the iOS ecosystem – notably the likes of Angry Birds, Cut The Rope and Tiny Wings, there’s still plenty of space in our hearts for those older, nostalgic classics.Sonic4 icon

Sonic the Hedgehog is an absolute classic, particularly to those who used to love collecting those golden rings on their Sega Game Gear, and with a few titles featuring Sonic and Tails already gracing iPhones, iPads and iPod touches worldwide, the second episode to Sonic The Hedgehog 4 has just been released by Sega America.

As a tech blogger, I love nothing more than writing hands-on reviews of apps and games, but in all truth, this particular title needs very little introduction. It follows straight on from Sonic The Hedgehog 4, but as opposed to merely being a re-hashed version of essentially the same thing, a lot of time and care has clearly gone into improving the title both from a playing point of view, and a visual aspect.

Apple apparently censoring the word "jailbreak" in US iTunes Store

Image

Developers, musicians, and probably any other content provider in the U.S. iTunes Store have a new Apple policy to deal with this morning; you apparently can’t use the term “jailbreak” in a product description or name. If you do slip up, or happen to be like 70′s rock band Thin Lizzy and have a hit song and album by the name of “Jailbreak”, you’ll find that it has been censored by Apple.

Apple appears to be blanking out the word “Jailbreak” as J*******k in many cases where it appears on iTunes. Some Americans we’re talking to are not seeing the censorship, but we’re assuming that’s due to caching issues.

The app that began life as Read It Later and that’s now known as Pocket (Free) has received a significant update to version 4.1, and the developer took the opportunity to report just how successful the app has become.

Since the rename and relaunch of the app three weeks ago, Pocket has received over 2 million downloads across a variety of platforms, and reached the #1 spot for free news apps for iPhone and iPad quickly. Pocket also became the third most downloaded iPad app within hours of the release last month.
