Trick to Get Verizon Unlimited Data Plan For Your iPhone

Verizon followed AT&T’s footsteps and killed their unlimited data plans for their smartphone (including iPhone) customers on July 7th, 2011.

But looks like some Verizon customers have figured out a way to trick the system to get the unlimited data plan. Surprisingly, it seems to also work for customers who purchased the iPhone after Verizon had stopped offering the unlimited data plans.

Folks at Slick Deals has posted a step-by-step guide to switch to the unlimited data plan, which according to the forum thread seems to have worked for some Verizon customers.

  1. Dial *611 from your Verizon phone, or 1-800-922-0204 from any phone.

iPhone Tip: You Can Close Multiple Apps at Once From The Multitasking Bar

If you’ve tried force closing multiple apps from the multitasking bar, you’re probably aware of the frustration that one has to go through to quit all those apps one by one.iOS Multitasking tray

This tip, found on reddit, might come in handy for you.

Turns out, you can use multitouch to force quitmultiple apps at once from the multitasking tray.

With the iOS device unlocked, double click on the Home button, then touch and hold the app icon until app icons in the multitasking bar begin to jiggle. You can tap on the  button on multiple app icons to force quit the apps in one go rather than doing it one app at a time.

Although it’s difficult to hit all four fingers at the right spot simultaneously, even closing two apps at once is a lot quicker than quitting one app at a time. The maximum we could manage is quitting three apps at a time, using two thumbs and a finger.

Fix “Invalid SIM” Or “No SIM Card Installed” Error On iPhone 4S With The New iOS 5.0.1 Build 9A406

Contrary to an early notion, Apple managed to deliver more than a couple of surprises when it re-released iOS 5.0.1, which was specifically seeded for iPhone 4S users suffering battery issues.iPhone 4S No SIM Card Installed

Although security holes have been scarce since the initial release of iOS 5.0 in mid-October, the fruit company managed to allow modders and developers some promise in their quest to port Siri through to devices aside from the company’s latest and greatest smartphone.

As per MacRumors, it has now also been revealed that iOS 5.0.1 also fixes another less documented problem with the iPhone 4S – the “No SIM Card Installed” error.

According to a new supporting document released by the Cupertino-based outfit, it has become clear that build 9A406 has been issued to users stuck with SIM card-related errors. It is thought, with the the issues affecting only a fraction of iPhone 4S users, Apple’s re-release would create a lot less fuss than declaring all with the next update, which is likely going to be iOS 5.1.

Clever iPhone 4S tricks: Look at your own ear

Have you ever wanted to look in your own ear? Or at the nape of your neck? Or behind furniture? If you own an iPhone 4S and an Apple TV, you can wirelessly beam the picture from your camera to your large screen TV.

Just enable AirPlay. Double-click the Home button, swipe to the right twice, select your Apple TV as your AirPlay destination and enable Mirroring.

Then, click Home and run the camera app. You’ll be able to see what the camera sees because its preview mirrors to your home TV, even when your arm is stuck behind a dresser.

You can also point the iPhone camera (front or back) at your ear, your nose, or your back — letting you see through your phone by watching your TV.

You may want to use a flashlight along with your phone as you explore darker parts of your house, like under your couch when looking for spare change or that missing remote.

Transfer Files From iPhone, iPad, iPod touch To PC Or Mac Effortlessly Without Using iTunes

As anybody familiar with Apple products will know, music video (and pretty much everything else) is centered around the iTunes app, and if the Cupertino company had it their way, that’s how it would stay.DiskAid

The problem is though, it’s pretty much one way traffic, and although everything syncs smoothly in true Apple style, transferring content from an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch onto a PC or Mac is not quite as simple.

In the overbearing vigilance against copyright infringement, what used to be a simple trip to My Computer or Finder can often turn into war and peace. Since the DRM was scrapped on the fruit company’s digital content in favor of vaguely traceable information on the downloader, it’s become a lot harder to extract certain files sitting on our devices.

This assumption that everybody’s a pirate has helped third party applications which facilitate full device browsing and back and forth transfer.
