WWDC 2010: Hands-on with Max Adventure and interview with Imangi’s Natalia Luckynova

Natalia Luckynova is half of Imangi Studios. Along with her husband Keith Shepherd, she makes iPhone and iPod games, including the popular Harbor Master and a few other titles.

We got to meet up with her at WWDC last week, and she was able to show off their latest title, Max Adventure, due out for the App Store in just a few weeks’ time. The game was heavily improved since I last saw it in action, and it’s shaping up to be a quality dual stick shooter — a little kiddy, but with a fun element of exploring a nice mix of environments and an actual story to follow.

You can see the game above, and once you’ve checked it out, be sure to head after the break, where Luckynova tells us how the company’s first iPad game is doing, what they think of iPhone 4 and iOS 4.0, and how she learned what a Kraken is.

iPhone OS 4.0 to Feature Flashlight Mode? [Video]

iPhone OS 4 Flashlight ModeWe are not sure if this is a bug or a feature but if you try to push the power/sleep button for three times in a row on the lockscreen, the iPhone goes right into flashlight mode showing bright white screen.

I have also tested this and it appears to be working on iPhone OS 4 Beta 4.

Could this be one of those useful little things like “Screenshot Capture” in iPhone which Apple is so good at implementing? Most likely yes.

What do you think?:

Videos Of iPhone 4G/HD Parts

iPhone 4GThe iPhone rumor mill is working overtime with less than a week to go for WWDC 2010 Keynote address, where Steve Jobs is expected to unveil the much awaited new iPhone.

Folks at iPhone Portugal have published videos of the next generation iPhone chassis/edge casing. The fourth generation iPhone parts were apparently bought by one of their readers in China.

iPhone Portugal claims:

These parts were purchased in China by one of our readers (weren’t stolen or found) then delivered to us. We will not reveal the price. Are those parts genuine? We can not know but we can tell for sure those parts are perfect, have no defects, not faulty at all, there is not even one single difference between the 2 copies we have.

There is no way to confirm the authenticity of the parts but they’ve shot a video to show the high quality of the parts:

Android on iPhone 3G Progress Update with Multitouch [Video]

Android on iPhone 3GLast time we wrote about “Android on iPhone” bits was when hackers had successfully ported Android to an iPhone 2G. We also posted a complete step by step guide on how to install it on a jailbroken 2G.

But the problem was that it was only for the iPhone 2G, not for the 3G version which is more widely used now than the original iPhone EDGE model.

Things are shaping out to be quite good for the Android on iPhone 3G. It wont be long before we see full blown version of Android running on iPhone 3G. The hackers/developers have already finished writing up a multi-touch driver for the iPhone, which would open a gateway for multi-touch support on Android in iPhone. According to the blog post:

I finished writing a driver for the Zephyr2 on the iPhone. It’s the same multi-touch solution that Apple has used starting from the first generation iPod touch and up to and including the iPad.

Now, of course this shouldn’t be construed as a promise to support the iPad eventually, but this multi-touch driver is definitely a concrete milestone that is important for pretty much all of Apple’s mobile Internet devices.

And here is a video of it in action:

Folks at 9to5Mac have released a nice video walkthrough that showcases the Bluetooth keyboard support in iPhone OS 4.0.
