Data Display Pokemon-Go Has Become The Largest Mobile-Game In U.S. History

It was almost a foregone conclusion that Niantic Labs’ Pokémon Go would be a worldwide phenomenon when it was taken out of its closed beta state and released to the general public on the iOS and Android app stores.

The initial limited public rollout confirmed what we all already knew, that the title was going to be a global success, but new statistics give us a better insight into just how popular the game has become in a relatively small amount of time. A report shows that Pokémon Go has quickly become the biggest U.S. mobile game ever based on daily active users.

The first 24-hours of Pokémon Go availability in the United States should have been enough to provide us with the information needed to understand just how successful this title was going to be for all stakeholders. Within its first full day of launch in the U.S., Pokémon Go managed to attract enough daily active users to rank higher than other popular mobile titles like and Clash Royale. Mega hits like Candy Crush Saga still had more users at the time, but it was clear that the inevitable would happen sooner rather than later.

The data clearly shows that the inevitable has indeed happened, with Pokémon Go surpassing the amount of daily active users that Candy Crush Saga could brag about back at its peak. Current statistics show that Pokémon Go has has around 21 million daily active users in the United States, with that number only set to grow as the game attracts more and more users.

At its peak, Candy Crush Saga was said to have had around 20 million daily active users mark, although the King-developed app did manage to amass close to 93 million DAUs on a worldwide scale. Pokémon Go’s 21 million and rising daily active users makes it “the biggest mobile game in U.S. history”.

So, just what’s next for the game? Well, it’s already managed to take the title of biggest mobile game in United States history, but the experts responsible for this report don’t think the accolades will stop there. Such is the popularity of the game, and the Pokémon franchise in general with its cult following, that the company believes the game has the potential to topple the likes of Google Maps and Snapchat when it comes to daily users.

It looks as though this is one smash-hit title that isn’t going to fade from memory anytime soon.
