Sales of the iPhone 5c may have been a disappointment to several, but the European launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5 confirmed that Apple’s multicolored plastic handset still has a side on the competitors.
Baseding on sales data from Kantar Worldpanel, the Galaxy S5 was available in 3rd put on the Great Britain sales graphes behind the iPhone 5s, and– I hope you’re resting down– the iPhone 5c.
That’s pretty shocking, considering the smartphone OS marketshare distribution across Europe greatly favors Android, with over 73 % of the area devoted to Google’s system and iOS hunting up simply 16.6 % for itself. Of the European customers that embraced the brand-new Galaxy phone, 17 % were former Apple consumers, while the vast majority were alreadying existing Samsung individuals.
Apple’s recent choice to introduce an 8GB variation of the iPhone 5c with a slightly lesser price appears to be settling, at the very least in the United Kingdom.
