Reports continue to confirm that Apple will unveil a 4G iPad tomorrow. Last month, Wall Street Journal had confirmed that Apple’s new iPad will support faster 4G LTE networks.
Yesterday, iMore who had earlier nailed the date of the iPad 3 media event (which will take place tomorrow, March 7th) also claimed that the same source has told them that iPad 3 will support 4G LTE networks.
Reuters now reports that the next generation iPad will be capable of operating on high-speed 4G LTE network.
Apple Inc is betting a 4G-equipped iPad will tempt more U.S. consumers to pay extra to watch high-quality video on the go, and in turn, give Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc a revenue boost. […]
The newest iPad will be capable of operating on a high-speed 4G “LTE,” or Long-Term Evolution network, according to a source familiar with the product. At speeds roughly 10 times faster than current 3G technology, that may go a long way toward banishing the sometimes shaky video quality of older devices.
iPad 3 will fall back to slower network technology when 4G LTE network is not available. But it remains to be seen if AT&T and Verizon iPads will be one model that will support both networks or separate models like iPad 2.
Apple had managed to get some amazing 3G deals for the iPad when it was launched back in 2010, we hope that it can get similar deals for 4G data plans.
