SanDisk Launches Really Dual USB Flashdrive Type C, Obtainable In 16-128GB Capabilities

SanDisk, the well known company behind popular storage solutions, has unveiled some new USB flash drives, with the outfit’s Ultra Dual USB Drive lineup gaining a host of additional drives ranging from 16GB all the way up to the 128GB flavor. The new drives, announced at this week’s Computex 2016, are aesthetically pleasing, if identical, and should be a good choice for many people – especially those looking for storage that will be of use right now while managing to future proof as much as is possible with such a piece of kit.

These drives are more noteworthy than most thanks to their USB-C connector, making them perfect for use with smartphones or notebook computers that use USB-C as their means of connectivity to an external source of storage. We’re looking at you, MacBook. Users of smartphones like the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P will be able to take advantage of the new drives, too.

While USB-C has received a lot of support amongst tech companies and users alike, not everyone has a call for it just now. This is the Ultra Dual collection of flash drives though, so they all have a trick up their sleeves. That trick is the ability to have a standard USB Type-A connector appear at will, making them instantly backward compatible. The USB 3.1-powered drives are said to be capable of speeds up to 150MB/s, too, so they shouldn’t be lacking for grunt no matter what you use them for.

All of SanDisk’s new drives are available to buy right now, and can be had in the capacity of your choice. Just make sure you don’t go too small – you can never have enough storage in our eyes!
