    Hi,
    I have 2 3GS new bootrom. Last night upgraded one from 4.0.1 to 4.3.3 using snowbreeze 2.7.1 and iTunes 10.2.2. It has baseband 05.13.04. All went well and it’s jailbroken and unlocked.
    Today I tried to do the same to the other, not the unlock because it has baseband 05.14.02. Using the same tools, I tried to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3.3 and jailbreak it just like the other one.
    Somehow that’s been impossible. iTunes extracts the firmware but when verifying returns the 3194 error. I’ve tried everything.
    Changing the host file with 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com, with 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com, with and without #, with none of them. restarting and not restarting, using iReb and not using it, with custom and original firmwares, upgraded the iTunes to 10.5.1 too, but nothing seems to work. Always 3194.
    Tinyumbrella doesn’t work in my pc, it gets stuck on exceptions, don’t know why. Tried on laptop too and it does the same even with diferent versions.

    Oh, all of this is being done on Windows 7 professional 32bits.

    Can please someone help me understanding why this is happening with this ohne when it worked with the other?

    I’m having trouble downgrading iphone 5.0 to 4.3.3. Ive tried the whole process with itunes and tiny umbrella but there is one step that im doing wrong cause in the end my phone messes up and i have to end up restoring and updating in iTunes regular pls help

      Update the device using itunes (if it is already jailbroken make sure you restore not update, if it is not jailbroken hit update). Then jailbreak it with greenpois0n (latest version) (on this page).

    Is jailbreaking bad are good. Jailbreak allows you to access the whole filesystem of your device. It doesn’t mean that since today it will be a best flash drive on the market. It means that since now your iPhone is open for the third party applications, that can be more powerful, so it’s good real good

      Do you mean free as in free apps from app store? Or paid apps downloaded (illegally) for free from installous. If you downloaded them with installous, you need to jailbreak and make sure the right version of appsync is installed.

    DOWNLOAD FIRST THE FF:
    *firmware 3.1.3 and 3.1.2
    *redsnow 0.9.4 or 0.9.3
    *bootloader 3.9 and 4.6

    heres what i do…update or restore iphone to 3.1.3…then use redsnow 0.9.4 or 0.9.3 use firmware 3.1.2 in redsnow..the finish!!!!…follows the steps in redsnow…..u have a jailbroken 3.1.3……

    **manual restore: using itune press shift and click restore,then look for your downloaded 3.1.3 firmware

      iTunes never updates the OS by itself. You must have clicked update by mistake. If you have saved SHSH blobs for your previous firmware then you can downgrade it and re-jailbreak and re-unlock.

    I used to function my Iphone 3G as a simple Wifi connector, able to surf the net and download applications, and by mistake upgraded it to 3.0 through Itunes, since then my iphone has been off (2months). I jail-broke it and i am desperately trying to activate it, but i am not able – there are just too many instructions out there.- whatever sim card is put in, Itunes says its not compatible. Please Help! I don’t need it to be used as a phone, though that would be nice., I just want to browse the net with it, download apps, etc. I am also trying to download pwnage tool 3.0 to create and ISPW file – but can’t find a proper site to download from.

    updated to 3.0 unlocked it with redsnow 0.8.

    after install the cydia files to connect iphone with phone provider.Cydia works for a while and then it doesn't open.

    phone apps work ok exept Cydia

    any advice?
