Steve Jobs, the Universal Pictures biopic written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, gets its debut screening tomorrow at the Telluride Movie Celebration. This is followed by a screening at the New York Film Celebration on Oct 3rd, before its national release on 9th October.

We initially saw a trailer for the film back in May, with a longer one revealed in July and a modified variation revealed on TELEVISION last month. A leaked screenplay draft confirmed that the movie is set around three item launches: the original Macintosh, the NeXT Cube and the iMac …… Meantime,

controversial documentary Steve Jobs: The Male in the Machineopens today. The documentary came under strong fire from Apple execs following its launching at SXSW back in March, with Apple’s Eddy Cue tweeting that it was” an inaccurate and mean-spirited view of my pal [and] not a reflection of the Steve I understood.” We first saw a trailer in July.

Director Alex Gibney said in an interview with Re/code that he desired to provide “something of a corrective” to exactly what he viewed as rose-tinted representations of Jobs.

There’s been a lot of hagiography of Steve. I do not believe that does justice to the male. So ideally [individuals will certainly] see it because context.

Asked whether he suched as Steve Jobs, Gibney stated he was clashed, appreciating his quest for perfection but likewise saw him as a really self-obsessed man.

I’m horrified, really, by his viciousness, and his failure to get outside himself, and to see himself and his company in a more comprehensive viewpoint.

You can see a list of the cinema where it’s revealing today below, and– rather to my surprise– it’s also now offered on iTunes. Take a look at online seeing choices over at the official website.
