If the iPad is nothing more than a content consumption device, no one bothered to get the message over to Kyle Lambert, a visual artist based out of the U.K.

The video below shows how Lambert, armed only with an iPad Air and the app Procreate, created an incredibly realistic and mind-blowing portrait of actor Morgan Freeman.

Lambert already has an impressive portfolio of iPad art, but this is the most photorealistic creation I’ve seen yet.

If you’d like to learn more about Lambert’s process, check out this 2011 presentation he conducted at Macworld 2011.
