Do you think iPhone’s charging cable is too long? Then a new Kickstarter project aims to address that problem.
Jason Hilbourne has developed an ultra-portable charging cable for your iPhone that can be used as a tripod stand and could also be used to wrap your earbud cord.
Twig is a charging cable that is 4-inches long with a bendable wire “skeleton”. This allows you to bend the legs to use it as a tripod when you want to use your iPhone as a camera or enjoy hand-free FaceTime calls with your family and friends.
Here’re some of the things you can do with Twig and your iPhone:
- Sync and charge on-the-go. It’s ultra-portable.
- Charge your iPhone right on the outlet.
- Snap fun tripod photos on-the-go.
- Pose for perfect self-timer photos.
- FaceTime with friends: on-the-go and hands-free!
- Prop-up those laid-back speaker-phone calls.
- Crank-up an impromptu upright boombox.
- Save space with the best earbud cord wrap.
The photo below should give you a good idea of how it can be used in so many ways:
Twig supports the weight of the iPhone, iPod touch or iPod nano.
You can pre-order Twig for $18 by pledging support for the project on Kickstarter. You can checkout Twig’s Kickstarter page for more details.
Twig has already received a lot of interest. It has received backing for approximately $46,000 at the time of writing this post from more than 1350 backers, with more than 57 days to go. Hilbourne and team are looking to raise $50,000 on Kickstarter to bring Twig to the market.
Twig seems like an ideal iPhone charging cable for folks on-the-move, but the only downside is that, you may not be able to use it with future iPhones and iPod touches as they’re widely speculated to come with a smaller dock connector.
