The 2014 Sochi Olympics start tomorrow, and if you haven’t already seen the protection from reporters who have shown up in Russia for the events, well, permit’s share there’s a great deal of work that clearly will not be done in time for tomorrow’s opening ceremony. And it appears that exact same “incomplete” motif rollovers to the formal Olympics highlights and results application from NBC also.
The application is made to be a one-stop purchase information from the games, and while I can’t judge it on its punctuality– since there has been no results yet, obviously– the app has a lot of problems.
For beginners, some of the pictures for the columns and video clip content are inaccurately cropped, resulting in some compressed faces and otherwise awful graphics. That’s not actually an offer breaker, so we’ll neglect it.
Then there’s the issue of the content itself disappointing up after following a web link from the front web page of the app. Some stories seem to fill well, while others are simply nowhere to be discovered. You could click a teaser on the “Just what’s Hot” list and get a blank web page. That’s a trouble.
In addition to those 2 problems, there are all kinds of mistakes that turn up randomly on the top and bottom of the display. I don’t know just what an “SSI documents” is, however the app appears to have issues processing it.
Oh, and there’s a yellow bar at the bottom of the display that checks out “Base mobile – from 320px (20em) to 480px (30em)” which feels like some kind of formatting guide for the designers that was never ever obtained or cleaned up.
All-in-all, it’s sort of an unpleasant effort on NBC’s component and absolutely unworthy downloading and install although that it’s free. Unless they launch the real completed version, it’ll remain a significant frustration.
