Apple describes its first store in Europe as “worn out and old” as it joins the queue to get a refresh

A planning application to refresh the style of Apple’s Regent Street store in London describes the appearance that is existing as & ldquo; dated and worn out ” as it joins the queue to find out a significant redesign. That is likely to be generally consistent with all the newest appearance first noticed in in Brussels when it opened two months past, managed by Jony Ive in his new job as Apple’s Chief Style Officer.

The standing of the building as ‘listed’ (historically protected) will limit the outdoor alters the firm is permitted to make, but the four Apple symbols in the windows will soon be taken out to let in more light, reviews the Night Regular.

The short seemed to re-envision the entire customer experience inside the store and tackle a weary and old inside sales place […] Portion of the planned works can be removing the four Apple Symbols in the Regent Avenue facade. it will help with sun light light penetrating the retail ground and maintains the historic character of the facade.

The top floor will probably be set back in the very front of the building, to let more light to the first floor. The present glass stairs is likewise removed and changed with ““two new spectacular stairways,” which we presume to function as coil designs seen in several Apple Stores. The store first opened in 2004, and has seen just small inside refreshes since then.

As with the Brussels store, the re-design is going to be completed by Foster & Associates, the architects behind London’s well-known Gherkin creating. It’s not understood when the work will probably be finished, the preparation approval being legitimate for as many as 36 months.
