Apple Offering Free Repairs Covering Issue With 2018 MacBook Air Logic Boards

It seems that Apple cannot go more than a couple of weeks without announcing a new issue with some of its products, with the latest being “a very small number” of 2018 MacBook Air computers. An internal document has been disturbed to Apple Stores and authorized service providers, according to MacRumors, which outlines the issue.

As a result, Apple says that it will replace the logic board of any impacted MacBook Air without any fee chargeable to the owner. Apple will also be proactive by sending emails to any customer who owns a MacBook Air that may be susceptible to failure. However, Apple hasn’t yet explained why these issues are popping up or what the symptoms may look like.

The good news is that Apple will offer this free logic board replacement service for four years after the MacBook Air’s original purchase date. Apple has as yet not made the details of this issue public, suggesting that the number of affected computers is indeed as small as the internal documents lead us to believe.

Over the past few weeks, Apple has already had to initiate new repair programs for its 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro and 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro for battery and display issues respectively. It’s perhaps of note that these problems all pertain to notebook computers, although they are by far the most popular Mac computer format of all.

If you’re concerned about your particular MacBook Air, we’d suggest reaching out to Apple via the usual methods.
