Apple says its ‘on pace’ to beat 10 million opening-weekend record with iPhone 6s and 6s Plus

In a declaration to CNBC, Apple says it is on pace to defeat in 2014’s iPhone record with the iPhone 6s as well as iPhone 6s Plus for opening up weekend break sales. This means Apple needs to surpass the 10 million unit record it set last year with the iPhone 6. Apple states that online demand for the larger iPhone 6s Plus is ‘‘ exceptionally strong’ with the preliminary stock of devices sold out internationally.

In 2014, Apple marketed 4 million iPhone 6 devices in 24-HOUR of preorders with the overall hitting 10 million in the initial 3 days of availability.Filed under: AAPL Firm
