Both iPhone 13 And iPhone 13 Pro Feature Dual eSIM Support For The First Time

Apple’s newly announced iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro are the first iPhones to gain support for running two eSIMs at the same time.

While previous iPhones were capable of running a single eSIM and a physical SIM at the same time, this is the first time an iPhone has been able to run two eSIMS, removing the need for a physical one at all for those who need to be able to connect to two lines at once.

Apple’s iPhone 13 specifications page release right after its California Streaming event came to a close, confirms that.

Apple explicitly lists support for dual-eSIM on that page, and if there’s still any confusion, the iPhone 12 specs page, that is only listed for dual-SIM support. The new setup is supported by iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are not compatible with existing micro-SIM cards.

Apple announced the new iPhones during an event streamed online yesterday, with new iPad, iPad mini, and Apple Watch hardware also announced during the same event. The company also confirmed that iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will ship on Monday, September 20.
