Microsoft has officially rolled out the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to lucky individuals with a compatible machine who have been added to the first wave of rollouts. Upgrading to that new version of Windows 10 will instantly give a ton of new features, security enhancements, and refinements to enjoy, but it seems that it could also cause some issues, such as a missing of a new feature in OneDrive.

If you have been through the process of upgrading to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, and have noticed that the new Files On-Demand feature isn’t showing up in Microsoft’s OneDrive app, then fret not as there is a solution for it. The problem occurs cause for one reason or another the OneDrive app bundled with the Fall Creators Update is an outdated version which doesn’t contain this new feature, meaning that you simply need to update the app in order to get the functionality. Step 1: Start by downloading the latest updated version of the OneDrive app from Microsoft here.

Step 2: Now that you have the OneDriveSetup.exe file on your machine, you need to simply double-click it and then go through the process of installing it to your current Windows 10 Fall Creators Update installation. Once complete, this will furnish your machine or device with the latest version of OneDrive, complete with the new Files On-Demand functionality.

Once installed, you can then head into the Microsoft OneDrive settings to enable the Files On-Demand functionality. This should then allow you to benefit from all of the things that Microsoft’s introduction of Files On-Demand feature is supposed to bring.
