How To Fix Kodi 17.1 Krypton Buffering Issue The Easy Way

Here’s how to fix or reduce 2017 Kodi 17 or 17.1 Krypton buffering issue that you might be facing on a device on which you have latest Kodi installed.

Kodi has been in the news a lot of late, and arguably the most popular media center software we can think of is getting a lot of unfair attention from people who do not necessarily understand what it is or what it does. Those of us who do are likely making great use of Kodi, but if that includes you, then you may well have experienced the worst thing you can come across when trying to stream video content, and that is buffering.

If that is happening to you and you are using Kodi 17.1, there may be a relatively easy way to fix that for you and while it will need the help of an add-on and a little bit of knowledge, we think this will go some way to helping out. Even if it does not completely eliminate buffering for you, it should at least reduce it. So, with that said, let’s get going. Below are the steps you need to follow.

Step 1: Fire up Kodi, open File Manager and add the http://repo.hackmykodi.com/ source.

Step 2: Select Add-ons followed by the package icon towards the top-left of the screen and then hit Install from zip file and select the source you just installed.

Step 3: Select program-add-ons followed by system-settings and finally, the .zip file that has “advanced settings” in its name as shown below.

Step 4: Return to the Add-ons screen and launch the Easy Advanced Settings add-on.

Step 5: Select Edit Settings, followed by Network settings and then Network.

Step 6: Select cacheMemBufferSize from the menu that follows. Delete the “DISABLED” text and enter “419430300” (without quotes).

Step 7: Now, select bufferMode and select 1.

Step 8: Lastly, select readbufferfactor. Delete “DISABLED” and enter “4”.

Step 9: Select the double periods at the top of the list three times before selecting Write XML File.

That’s all you need to do!

With those options set, we think you should have a much more enjoyable experience when streaming video and, hopefully, much less buffering. Good luck folks, and happy streaming!
