How To Force Full-Screen iPhone X Support For Any iOS App

When Apple introduced the iPhone X, it also introduced a whole new problem for those who use apps that are unlikely to receive updates any time soon.

Just as we saw when the first Plus-sized iPhone was launched, developers needed to update their apps to ensure that they made full use of the additional screen space made available to them.

With the iPhone X, the same situation reared its ugly head, and as always, if you rely on an app that is not being updated to support the newest hardware in town, you’re out of luck. Unless you’re jailbroken.

If, like us, you are sick and tired of using apps on your new $999 phone that simply do not fill that gorgeous OLED display, then you are going to want to check out FullScreenX.

Available for free and downloadable from Cydia, this tweak does one thing and one thing only – take non-optimized apps and make them work in all their full-screen glory on an iPhone X. That’s about all there is to it.

Once installed, users simply need to activate FullScreenX by flipping one toggle and then respringing their device. From here, all apps that would previously only fill part of the screen will do what their developers should have made them do already – run fill screen.

This is, of course, all well and good, but if you are not using a jailbroken iPhone X, then you are still unfortunately in a position of having to wait for your favorite app’s developer and as we all know, that can be a long wait indeed. Some apps will never receive an update to add full-screen iPhone X support.

After all, we still have some that don’t support the Plus-sized phones we have had for years.

Shame on you, developers.
