iMessage suffering from an extensive interruption, numerous users not able to send/receive messages

It appears that Apple’s iMessage is suffering from widespread concerns this night. While Apple has yet to acknowledge the concern on its system status page, users on Twitter have been reporting problems for the previous hour, a lot so that iMessage is trending on the social media network today.

Users report that their iMessages are not being provided, providing as both an iMessage and an SMS, and being delivered more than once, even after the initial message was received and reacted to. Other users report that iMessages are taking an abnormally long quantity of time to send out, while numerous images sent via iMessage will not provide at all. Some users report that a simple restart repairs their iMessage problems, at least briefly, while others state that turning iMessage on and off in the Settings app also helps.


Some users report no issues with iMessage. Apple has formerly acknowledged iMessage blackouts on its status page, noting that in 2013 that one affected 30 percent of users. Previously this month, iCloud struggled with a pair of failures.
