iOS 15 And iPadOS 15 Photos App Now Displays EXIF Data

Apple’s iOS 15 release won’t be around for everyone until this fall, but developers are already able to install it on their devices. We’re still learning more about the release and we now know that the stock Photos app is gaining support for EXIF data.

Currently, users who want to see EXIF data have to resort to installing a third-party app. However, once iOS 15 is installed they’ll be able to see the information they need right from within the Photos app.

All they’ll need to do is open the photo and tap a new Info button to reveal the details.

Those details include the filename, the date the photo was taken, and the camera that was used. We also get to see data like the ISO, focal length, and F-stop plus location data and more.

Apple announced iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15 during a bumper WWDC21 opening keynote yesterday. There is still a whole lot to get through and it’s likely that all of Apple’s early betas will change considerably before the releases land on public iPhones later this year.

If all goes according to previous years we expect Apple to release iOS 15 towards the middle of September, just before new iPhones are made available.
