Microsoft Announces Xbox Series X Launch Date Time-Frame

Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox Series X launch date time-frame. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Today has seen some good news and some bad news in the world of the upcoming Microsoft Xbox Series X console. We’ll start out with the former, with Microsoft now confirming that the Xbox Series X will launch at some point in November, 2020.

Previously the only timeframe we’d been given was a rather vague “holiday 2020” so knowing which month we’re going to be dropping hundreds of dollars does make it a little easier to budget for. We’re expecting it to be a costly little beggar, but until Microsoft tells us exactly how much we’ll be spending come November.

Now, the bad news. In a blog post today it was confirmed that launch title Halo Infinite is no longer that. It won’t launch alongside the console and will instead have to wait until some point next year. Microsoft says that it wanted to make sure that it could come up with something that meets its “vision: which, to us, sounds like it wasn’t very good yet.

“The decision to shift our release is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges, including the ongoing COVID-related impacts affecting us all this year. I want to acknowledge the hard work from our team at 343 Industries, who have remained committed to making a great game and finding solutions to development challenges. However, it is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship it this holiday.”

It’s always better to delay a launch rather than push it out before it’s ready, so we’re behind this move completely. But there’s no denying that it does make the Xbox Series X launch just that little big less exciting.
