MTerminal For iOS 11 / 11.3.1 / 11.4 Jailbreak Released

The historically popular MTerminal app has been updated and released offering support for iOS 11. The updated package has been pushed out onto the Elucubratus repository offering support for devices jailbroken with the Unc0ver jailbreak.

MTerminal, or Mobile Terminal as some prefer to call it, is exactly what it sounds like it is. It’s predominantly aimed at those users who are familiar with the command line interface and who prefer to have access and control of processes on the device via a text-based input.

A lot of users simply prefer to be able to interact with things that are exposed to them via a graphical “see-and-touch” interface, whereas jailbroken power users like to get involved in the nitty gritty via the command line. MTerminal has been one of the few apps for jailbroken devices which have facilitated that over the years.

With this update, the package has been brought up to speed with iOS 11 and released onto the repository which actually gets installed by default on devices that are jailbroken using the relatively new Unc0ver jailbreak offered into the public domain by @Pwn20wnd. This means that anyone who is using an iPhone or iPad which has been jailbroken using Unc0ver should be able to search within Cydia and grab the latest and compatible version of MTerminal provided that the sources have been refreshed enabling the repo to pull in the package.

In terms of functionality, MTerminal will open up a whole new world of possibilities for a lot of device owners who want to grab some additional control of their hardware. The app includes support for a number of custom gestures and color palettes for those who want to customize the experience to their own preferences. The source code for the project is also entirely open-source and available for people to download and check out if they want to add to it with their own features or just get visibility on how it’s put together.

For those who are jailbroken already using Unc0ver, then the MTerminal app should be available at the following repo to download right now: repo.bingner.com.

For those who use Electra, it should still be possible to grab the Debian file sideload it to the device.
