Report: iPhone 11 To Feature Wide-Angle Face ID, Better Low-Light Photography, New iPads, More Expected Later

We’re now just weeks away from Apple taking the wraps off of the 2019 iPhone lineup. As has become the norm, Bloomberg has now shared a rundown of what is expected to be announced not just at the event, but reaching out into 2020.

The obvious one is the iPhone 11 with a new three-camera setup. Those cameras will offer wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses allowing new and interesting images to be taken by users. There will also be features built into iOS 13 that will make specific use of those new lenses.

An update to Face ID is also said to be part of the new iPhone 11 lineup with a new sensor giving the biometric security system a wider field of view.

The phones will include a new multi-angle Face ID sensor that captures a wider field of view so that users can unlock the handsets more easily – even when the devices are flat on a table.

New iPad Pro models are also expected this year with the same camera system as the iPhone 11. A new 10.2-inch iPad is also slated to replace the current 9.7-inch iPad, too.

Moving into next year, a new cheaper HomePod is expected with reduced audio prowess. That will be joined by new AirPods that sport water resistance and noise cancellation, according to the report.

Other new releases include the much rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro and a new Apple Watch refresh.

We’re expecting Apple to host a media event on September 10th during which the new iPhones will be announced. It’s possible more hardware will arrive during the event, but there is also a chance that it will trickle out over the coming weeks in an attempt to keep focus on the iPhone itself.
