Review: Ugreen’s affordable USB-C 8 in 1 Adapter is a great way to expand your MacBook’s I/O [Deal]

Ugreen released its new USB-C Multiport 8 in 1 Adapter earlier this year and it quickly sold out with an affordable price tag of about $50. Now, we’ve gone hands on with the accessory that packs about every I/O you could need. We’ve also got an exclusive 25% off for 9to5Mac readers who want to grab this adapter for $40. Read on for our full review and coupon code.

While there’s nothing groundbreaking about this USB-C adapter, Ugreen makes this a compelling offering by including Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI amongst other I/O.

Most other reputable brands price similar accessories in the $60-$90 range. Ugreen offering its USB-C Multiport Adapter for $52, let alone $40 for 9to5Mac readers makes it look like a steal compared to Apple’s USB-C AV Adapter at $70 or Belkin’s standalone USB-C to Ethernet for $35.

  • 3 x USB-A 3.0 ports (up to 5Gbps)
  • USB-C PD (up to 60W)
  • SD slot (UHS-I)
  • Micro SD slot (UHS-I)
  • Gigabit Ethernet port
  • HDMI output (up to 4K @ 30Hz)
  • Construction of Ugreen’s USB-C Multiport Adapter feels as solid as every other adapter I’ve used. It’s made from aluminum and black plastic for the cable. It just comes one color, gray, which matches Apple’s space gray pretty closely, but it is a bit darker.
