Samsung Copies iPhone 11 ‘Slofie’ Feature, Bringing Front Camera Slow-Motion Recording To Galaxy S10

Apple was all very pleased with itself when it came up with “Slofies” for its new iPhones. And while it’s unlikely anyone will actually use it beyond the initial reviews, there’s no doubt it demos well. So it shouldn’t be surprising that Samsung would want to add the feature to its own phones, too.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is the first to copy Apple’s implementation by adding a similar slow motion feature to its own front-facing cameras. So long as you’re using the One UI 2 beta on a Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, or Galaxy S10e.

If you are you can take advantage of the new feature that will presumably be making its way to all of Samsung’s flagship phones once the software finds its way out of beta.

SamMobile was able to take the test the feature out and sure enough, it’s just as we thought. Think of Slowfies but with less polish and you won’t be very wrong. You can check out SamMobile’s example video to see what we mean.

Our favorite phone maker has added a slow motion mode to the front camera with One UI 2.0 and Android 10. Like the slow motion mode for the rear camera, you don’t get any customization options for slow motion videos with the front camera. You just hit the record button and go crazy, although you can edit recorded slow motion videos and reduce their playback speed to make everything even slower.

Remember that this is a beta though, so things could absolutely improve. That still might not be enough to make anyone want to use it, though.
