When the Wii initially appeared there was simply one video game that individuals had to see before they understood they wanted one: Wii Sports. Of all the sporting activities minigames included in Wii Sports the most prominent was bowling, and now iOS players which have taken on the Apple TV could resemble that encounter with a motion-controlled bowling video game of their own. It’s called Bowling Central, and it’s a great instance of just how the Apple TV can become a video gaming device even without video game apps of its own.
Using the AirPlay capability of the Apple TV you could boot the game on your iPhone, throw the bowling spheres down the digital street using the smartphone and watch the action play from the screen in front of you. It’s a very glossy little arrangement, and I wish more video games would consider doing points like this. I understand there are a few, however seriously, let’s acquire the sphere rolling. No pun planned (ok, maybe a little).
