TinyUmbrella Updated Ahead Of iOS 4.3 Release

A new version of TinyUmbrella, the tool that allows you to take backups of SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) has just been released to support iOS 4.3 GM, which was recently seeded to developers of iOS developer program. iOS 4.3 is expected to bereleased to the public on March 11th.

TinyUmbrella also protects iPhone 4 from baseband updates.

The backed up SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) are required if you want to downgrade to previous iOS version as Apple usually stops signing them after iOS 4.3 is released.

Semaphore – developer of TinyUmbrella has provided the following information about the new version:

This update provides iOS 4.3 GM support as well as uses your system proxy settings when launching the TinyUmbrella loader. I’ve also made a few tweaks to streamline the currently saved shshs. I’m still working on the windows recovery kick out fix for 4.2.1 – I should have that finished this week (hopefully)

You can checkout our step-by-step guide on how to take a backup of SHSH blobs:

Note: If you have jailbroken your iPhone then Cydia will automatically store the SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) when you launch it so you don’t need to use TinyUmbrella to take a backup.

Users who want to jailbreak and/or unlock their iPhone to avoid upgrading to iOS 4.3 when it is released.

We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve any further updates.
